2. Pray
Scripture tells us that Jesus prayed often. Just as Jesus kept an ongoing conversation with the Father, so ought we.
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
Ephesians 6:18
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Philippians 4:6
According to these verses, we should pray:
On all occasions and in every situation
All kinds of prayer and requests
-
In an alert (and not anxious) state of mind
It may seem counterintuitive to not be anxious when we are praying about difficult things, but I believe that God is directing us to submit our anxiety to Him instead of dwelling on it or fretting.
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.”
Psalm 34:4
When we pray, we are inviting God to intervene in our thoughts, circumstances, and relationships! Where do you need God’s intervention today? Pray and invite Him in!
“Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.”
Psalm 62:8
